This newsletter comes straight off the back of our exciting US tour. We love our Ultimate Jukebox show so much and so, it is always fun to take it on the road.
Starting in Verona, NJ we travelled all over the East Coast performing at some legendary venues, such as B.B Kings in NYC, before heading back over to the West Coast to finish.
However, touring doesn’t always go to plan and although March tends to be the start of spring time, we were hit hard by the snow storms. As Australians, snow isn’t something we see everyday and we tend to get a little over-excited by it… Many a snowball fight was had and although I’m sure he will deny it, Toby was definitely the loser. Sadly, the snow got pretty heavy that in some instances, we unfortunately had to cancel performances – we were really gutted not to get over to Boston and miss out on Morristown, apologies guys! Yet, luckily we’ve managed to re-schedule our Morristown show and we can’t wait to come back, hopefully to better weather. You can get tickets for it here.
The tour ended on an amazing high in Modesto and we feel extremely lucky to travel to these amazing places to entertain. It’s really rewarding to connect with fans from around the US and we always enjoy people coming to support us and with numerous standing ovations, we think, they might have enjoyed it too!
After some much welcomed down time, we’re back in Vegas! Performing our Jukebox show at the Venetian is awesome and we’re so glad to be back at our second home. It’s great to come back to the residency after the tour, injecting new life and vibrancy into the performances taking what we’ve learnt from the road and applying it to our Venetian show.
Don’t forget to buy your Mom tickets to our show for Mother’s Day weekend, we’d love to see you there! You can get tickets here.
We also hope your Easter break was spent with loved ones and filled with special moments. The guys and I spent the weekend with our families doing various Easter activities. Andrew was especially busy releasing some brand new music as part of a really exciting side project he’s been working on with his good friend and pastor, Tim Dunfield.
Titled Finding Faith, the pair have been working hard writing music and recording over this past year of the Christian worship genre and it sounds fantastic. Please don’t worry he’s not leaving Human Nature – we just really wanted to show our support and we invite you all to follow their journey & check it out here!
Finally, we’ve been working on several new projects set to be revealed later this year and although we wish we could share them with you now you’ll just have to wait a little while longer… Watch this space.
We have a pretty cool week trying to get the word out as much as possible and we start this morning in NYC on the TODAY show with a live performance of 2 of our favorite tracks. Tune in from 10.45am across the US or 1.45am (Saturday morning) if you’re back home.
We recently announced some US Tour dates for next March too which is going to be a blast – taking our show across the country is something we always try and fit in and around our Vegas schedule so the current dates are listed and on sale. We are already getting excited for the shows. Tickets are on sale now, pick up yours here.
Between now and Christmas, we plan to pop up here, there and everywhere including the PBS Special airing just after Thanksgiving (check your local listings for times) so here’s to a Happy ‘Jukebox’ Season for you all and thanks as always for your incredible support.
Australia’s HUMAN NATURE have earned their place as one of the world’s finest pop vocal groups of the modern era, and as award-winning Las Vegas resident headliners with their distinctive harmonies and stellar live shows. The PBS special, “HUMAN NATURE: Jukebox – In Concert from the Venetian,”is inspired by and based on the group’s two Australian multi-platinum selling albums Jukebox and Gimme Some Lovin,’ which feature classic ‘50s and ‘60s pop standards. The albums were executive produced by the legendary Bob Rock (Michael Bublé, Metallica) and produced by David Pierce (Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams). The songs were originally either penned or performed by the likes of The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Righteous Brothers, Fontella Bass and more. Things started to ramp up when we paid a visit to New York City at the end of September. We always love going to “the city that never sleeps” but this trip was a very special one.
We are so excited and proud share with you that we have signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment’s Legacy Recordings! Woo-hoo! It feels so great to be building on the 22 year relationship we have had with Sony Music Australia to now extend that into the US. We had a hugely productive time meeting all the folks that will be helping us bring our music to more of the US and beyond.
Undoubtedly the highlight of the trip was the last evening we were there and we had the opportunity to do our very first Manhattan rooftop performance. Perched high above the bustle of NYC below and with the sun setting over the Manhattan skyline as our backdrop, we showed our new Sony family what we have loved doing for the last 28 years. Our album Jukebox – The Ultimate Playlist is going to be released on November 3rd in the US (but you can always pre-order now on iTunes so you don’t forget 😉 ).
Returning to Vegas with a shiny new recording deal under our belts we jumped back into the Vegas Jukebox show – with it’s new Juke Joint section that continues to be so much fun to perform. We have also been pretty busy with some new video content for you guys – a version of one of our biggest hits in Australia “Wishes” and most recently our own rendition of Sam Smith’s beautiful “Too Good At Goodbyes”. Also, for those of you who might not have caught it, make sure you check out our take on Pink’s “What About Us” – it really seems to suit our voices.
With Halloween just around the corner which will be quickly followed by Thanksgiving here in the states, we are going to finally be out there with the broadcast of our PBS special “Human Nature Jukebox – In Concert From The Venetian”! It feels like this can’t happen soon enough for us as we are so proud of how it has turned out and we just can’t wait for people to see it. We hope you love it.
Phew! – just when you think that’s a lot going on, we will be taking a very quick trip mid-December back to Australia to perform a one-off show as part of the A Day On The Green series. We’ll be performing a huge show of our original hits, Motown, Jukebox and a whole lot of Christmas songs as well. All of that topped off by being outdoors and being able to enjoy a nice glass of wine (it’s at Rochford Wines – we’ll wait till after the show – promise!), it should be an awesome night.
Well it’s been a super busy past month here in Vegas. We’ve been working hard on refreshing an adding some new songs into the playlist of our Jukebox show at The Venetian. I don’t think any of us predicted how difficult it might be but It certainly has added some fun to the show. One exciting new part to the show we actually get the audience to choose the next song in the show! Keeps us all on our toes and allows the show to really be different every night and just like a real Jukebox.
We also have some exciting news… Our Jukebox show has been nominated for two awards at this year’s Best of Las Vegas and the voting is open right now. All you need to do, is head over to BestofLasVegas.com and follow the steps below:
For those of you living in Oz you may not know but August is a also “back to school“ time in US and my daughter Isabel has just started 2nd grade, and growing up way too fast. Love seeing her get excited about learning new things.
We’ve been getting out and about on TV & radio here in Vegas letting people know the exciting news that our contract at The Venetian has been extended to 2019! Amazing to still be on the strip performing along side some incredible shows and artists in this crazy town. For those of you in Australia don’t get upset cause we’ll still be coming back home as often as we can, watch out for a big announcement coming in the next few weeks, we may be back sooner that you think!!
Hope you’ve all been well and look forward to seeing you at the show soon. Don’t forget to come up a say hi as we come out to say G’day and sign CD’s after every show.
Finally our hearts go out to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey and the devastating floods in Texas. We all send our love & prayers to those in need and those who are helping and rescuing others. The damage and clean up is and will continue to be unimaginable. If you would like to donate or help please Text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the Red Cross.

Welcome to the August – hope all of you are enjoying either a not too cold winter or a not too hot summer.
We’re currently all away on our summer holidays to get refreshed to power through to the end of the year – I’m with my family in Cabo San Lucas (we love it there!), Andrew and his family are also in Cabo but stayed a bit further out of town than us, Mike and his girls flew off to the Greek islands (wow!) and Toby took his family northwest up to beautiful Portland and Seattle. From all reports everyone is having a blast so far.
When we’re back we’re going to be working on a number of new changes to the Vegas show and add some new songs and elements. We’re calling the new section of the show the “Juke Joint” – the place where people used to go to hang out and drink, dance and listen to new music. It’s where the name “Jukebox” came from – it’ll be cool, intimate and a whole lot of fun. Come and check it out!
Last month we had the 1-year anniversary of the release of our #1 album “Gimme Some Lovin’: Jukebox Volume II” in Australia – we all remembered how amazing a feeling it was to have the top album in the country. In celebration of the milestone we have actually recorded an acoustic version of Andrew’s original song from the album “Forgive Me Now” – it’s available to watch across all our social media accounts. Hope you enjoy it!
And finally, we have some BIG news coming up for our Aussie fans – might there be a short HN visit home at the end of the year??? Stay tuned to find out!
Cheers everyone – looking forward to seeing you at a Human Nature show again soon!
I really hope June has been a great month in your lives. I chose my Birthday month to be my newsletter month and between the celebrations for that and my first Fathers Day (Yeah, Fathers Day is in June in North America…), it’s been a pretty awesome time for me personally.
The Jukebox Show at the Venetian has been continuing to have great crowds and fun nights of singing and dancing .. we even did our first Youtube live stream (with the camera sideways to make it interesting and more artsy!!!!) and look fwd to doing more of that from our ‘homeground’ throughout the year.
My first Fathers Day was such a blessing and I really can’t fathom how my little Violette can be quite so beautiful and perfect .. I know all you parents out there must feel the same about your little precious ones so i will never forget my first Fathers Day. She really is an amazing gift from God and I’m loving every minute I get with her — I hope you like seeing my overwhelming IG posts of her … if you got it, flaunt it I say :))
Here’s a snap from my La La Land themed Birthday thrown by Isabel. Violette didn’t get the ‘smile… it’s Daddy’s Birthday’ memo.
On another front, we have seen edits now of the PBS special we filmed last month and honestly, I think it’s one of the finest things we have created … it was an intense creative process but we worked with a such a passionate and killer team to film it so it was worth the hours of rehearsals and multi day shoots. It has come out so well that we have decided now to hold off broadcasting it ’til the end of the year here in North America (and Australia soon after we hope) but we will tease bits and pieces across the months leading unto that. Exciting stuff. Also we want to thank the supporters who managed to come to the shows to help be such an incredible audience … look out for yourselves in the crowd shots!!!
It sure is heating up here for Summer in Vegas and apologies for the pasty white legs sticking out of shorts whenever we might post from soundcheck … some of us aren’t the typical ‘bronzed Aussies’ but we’re enjoying the heat and the pool season for sure.
July looks set to be another busy show month and then the 4 of us take a quick break before settling into a creative second half of the year … however in typical Human Nature style of keeping busy, we are currently working on some new elements to our Las Vegas Jukebox residency show – we have so many new songs that we’re creatively working into the show – think of it as as new reason to come back and see us if you’re here in Vegas, from other US states or some of our incredible Australian and international fans that come to Vegas …. More news on this soon but here’s a tip ….. Announcements are only weeks away !
Don’t forget, you can also bag yourself 25% off all tickets to our Jukebox show by adding the following promo code at the checkout – Soc25
Finally, we plan to do lots more online activity ongoing so if you aren’t already following Human Nature – here’s where you can find us – there’s always lots of unique things we are trying – new song performances, small pieces to camera, other posts that hopefully keep you entertained and a part of our HN family and community!
Stay cool (if it’s warm) and warm (if it’s cool) and I look fwd to chatting with you all again next time.
