International pop sensation, HUMAN NATURE, is hosting an exciting national contest calling upon all a cappella groups to win a chance at an opening slot for their upcoming nationwide tour.
Human Nature started as four high school students in Sydney, Australia who formed a singing group that began as a tribute to their love of a cappella doo-wop and Motown. When Smokey Robinson first heard the group’s a cappella version of his classic “Ooh Baby Baby,” he was not only blown away, but he became a true fan of the group. Now, after logging in more than 600 performances in the last two years, Human Nature wants to give young a cappella groups the chance of a lifetime.
From February 15th through March 6th, 2012, groups can submit their audition videos to www.humannaturelive.com/contest. Human Nature will then pick the top three submissions per selected tour stop and post the finalists’ videos for the public to vote. Fans, family and the public then determine who will open each show by adding “likes” or “thumbs up” for their favorite finalist. For a list of the cities and full contest rules, go to www.humannaturelive.com/contest.
With years of hard work, genuine talent and some luck, today, Human Nature is Australia’s leading pop vocal group, and one of the preeminent vocal harmony groups in the world. They have released nine albums (many containing their own original material), five of which went to No. 1 in their native continent, selling millions of records worldwide and garnering 23 platinum awards, 70 Top 40 hits and five Top 10 hits. The group has opened for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson in Europe and Australia. Their chart-topping Motown tribute, Reach Out, went five-times-platinum, attracting the attention of famed songwriter Smokey Robinson, who recorded his song “Get Ready” with them and presented them in an exclusive booking at Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace, where they have played six nights a week to sold-out crowds for the past two and a half years.
Their nationwide tour kicks off on March 24th in Detroit, the home of Motown in support of their new CD, THE MOTOWN RECORD, and DVD, HUMAN NATURE SINGS MOTOWN WITH SPECIAL GUEST SMOKEY ROBINSON.

HUMAN NATURE ANNOUNCE INAUGURAL U.S. TOUR
Multi-platinum Australian Pop Group Releases New Album
HUMAN NATURE, Australia’s #1 pop vocal group with millions of albums sold worldwide, is storming America with their first-ever U.S. National tour, a new album release, The Motown Record, a spectacular PBS TV Special and a new DVD.
The chart-topping quartet and their seven-piece band, The Funk Foundation, is embarking on a U.S. tour this spring. “Human Nature: The Motown Show presented by Smokey Robinson” kicks off March 24 in Detroit and will travel to 33 U.S. cities. This outstanding evening of hit-driven entertainment features Motown’s greatest music, inspiring audiences young and old to be “dancing in the streets” and the aisles. Tickets for all tour appearances go on sale to the public January 27. For complete tour schedule and ticket information, visit www.humannaturelive.com
This cross-country tour follows the incredible success of the TV special, “Human Nature Sings Motown with Special Guest Smokey Robinson,” which premiered in December 2011 on PBS stations nationwide.
The new Human Nature album, The Motown Record, (release date March 6, Universal Music Enterprises) is a classic yet modern take on the Motown hits that influenced generations, featuring songs originally made famous by artists like the Four Tops, the Supremes, the Temptations and Stevie Wonder. Human Nature brings their fresh soulful vocal style to classics like “Baby I Need Your Loving,” “My Girl,” “Uptight (Everything’s Alright),” and “Stop! In The Name Of Love.” Paying tribute to the Motown sound, Human Nature’s distinctive and authentic performances of these ever-popular favorites represent everything audiences love about the songs, delivered by four supremely talented young men who sing and dance their way through the Motown hit list.
Hailing from Sydney, Human Nature features brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney and fellow high-school classmates Phil Burton and Toby Allen. While still in school, they were captivated by the harmonies of soul, gospel and R&B. Since forming Human Nature, these four friends have forged one of the most successful careers in Australian music history, releasing nine albums, five of which went to No. 1. They have toured internationally, and opened for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson in Europe and Australia.
Human Nature opened the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 and their 2005 Motown tribute, “Reach Out,” went platinum five times over, attracting the attention of Smokey Robinson. The legendary singer recorded “Get Ready” with Human Nature and now presents their celebration of the Motown sound in an exclusive run at Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace, where they consistently have played to sold-out crowds for more than two years. Their PBS special, a telecast of the group’s impressive show produced by longtime Grammy Awards and multi-Emmy Award winning producer Ken Ehrlich, features the group singing their spectacular interpretations of Motown hits, dancing and sharing stories that delight and entertain audiences.
Now, this international pop sensation embarks on their first-ever U.S. National tour, performing in 33 cities. Tickets for all performances will go on sale Friday, January 27, 2012.

Our brand new special “Human Nature Sings Motown with Special Guest Smokey Robinson” begins airing today in the US on PBS as part of their National Pledge Drive. We’ve listed air dates and times here on our website for all of the PBS stations that are airing the show over the next week or so. We are really proud of this special which was shot last July before a live audience by longtime Grammy® Awards producer, and our friend, Ken Ehrlich so we hope you tune in! We’re psyched to be part of the amazing talent line up on PBS, and we’re happy to help PBS in their fundraising efforts.
By pledging to your local PBS station you have the opportunity to get your hands on our brand new CD: Human Nature The Motown Record (before you can buy it this Spring) as well as our companion Live DVD featuring our friend Smokey. You can even pledge for tickets to see us perform live in a city near you this Spring before tickets go on sale to the general public on January 27th…which means you’ll get great seats through PBS! This will be our very first US Tour and we couldn’t be more excited.
