June Newsletter | Getting ready to give you some lovin’!

LAS VEGAS, NV – Jul 8, 2016

Hi all! Once again things are really starting to heat up for us on a couple of fronts. Our show at The Venetian is going well, our new album ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ Jukebox Vol II’ is about to be released in Australia and we’ve got another exciting announcement for our international fans that I’ll get to later.

We’re certainly feeling the heat over here at the moment, with summer well and truly kicking in here in Vegas. The temperature has reached up to 47°C on some days, so it’s been all about the pool at my house!

With it being so hot here, we’re looking forward to heading home to some cooler weather. We’re gearing up for an exciting trip to Australia to release our brand new album ‘Gimme Some Lovin’ – Jukebox Vol II’. and perform our Vegas Jukebox show for one night only at The Star in Sydney on July 21.

Hope you can all catch a show of ours soon or pre-order yourself a copy of the new album – we had a blast recording it and even went old-school on a couple of tracks recording them live off the studio floor with the band. We actually shot part of the video clip for ‘Be My Baby’ at one of my neighbours’ houses, which was pretty cool.

‘Gimme Some Lovin’ – Jukebox Vol II’ is due for release in Australia and Asia on July 22, with further international releases to be advised very soon. Some Australian retailers provide international delivery for the CD, with both Sanity and JB HiFi shipping to most international locations.

We’ve also been busy working hard to promote our Jukebox show here in Las Vegas over the last couple of weeks. I got to fill in for Sean McAllister alongside Rachel Smith a few weeks ago, co-hosting MORE FOX5 on FOX5 Las Vegas. Lots of fun to be had on and off camera.

We also had a great photo shoot for Luxury Las Vegas recently, suiting up alongside some incredible cars from Exotics Racing for the magazine’s upcoming Men’s issue.

Finally, I have to say that my favourite YouTube clip of the moment is the video for Justin Timberlake’s song ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’. Random people dancing is always fun and I can’t believe JT sang into a banana – hilarious! We loved the song so much that it became our latest ‘Jukebox By Request’ video, which you can watch here.

Don’t forget you can stay up-to-date with everything that we’re up to – including our upcoming trip to Australia – on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and now Snapchat! Just search for “HumanNatureLive”.

May Newsletter | New album, new tour, one busy month!

Posted by on Sunday, May 29th, 2016

LAS VEGAS, NV – May 29, 2016

Hey everyone, I’m finally reflecting on the last month, and I’ll give myself a small break – because to say the least, it’s been busy! :) The highlight of the month for HN has definitely been finally launching the new live Jukebox show in Vegas at The Venetian!

I know you’ve all heard a lot about it but for the four of us, it really felt like such a cool creative achievement to finally open the show and have the fans witness what we’ve been developing for almost 18 months. Of course, there were some hiccups along the way but I’m proud to say that the wheels never fell off and on literally the first night we ‘pressed play’ so to speak, without having done a full beginning-to-end run of the entire show EVER with full production – the audience loved it and we had smiles from ear to ear. We did it! If you’re passing through Las Vegas soon, we’d love for you to come and check out the show!

We’re now eight weeks in, and the reviews and reactions have been awesome – so many visitors in from back home, that all the Aussie talk makes us feel like we are almost home each night. We even sing the audience’s favourite ‘Australian’ song every night – lots of fun.

Once we got the show up and running, we moved our focus to finishing the new album “Gimme Some Lovin’ – Jukebox Vol. II” which is so much fun — some of the songs are already in the new show. We couldn’t wait to get back into the Jukebox world again and just have the most awesome time creating our versions of some more all-time classics. A number of the tracks we actually recorded completely live on the studio floor with the band and the four of us all performing together.

You see, this type of thing all the time in the movies but it NEVER normally happens these days. Even the seasoned session musicians we had on the record had never done it for real in their entire careers. It was such a treat and sounds so fresh on the album. Also, another new song of mine that I wrote for us is amongst the new set of recordings and I can’t wait for you all to hear the entire finished album soon. We’ll be announcing six songs off the album on Twitter over the weekend, and as one of our VIP Newsletter subscribers, you’ll be receiving the full tracklisting on Monday night!

We had fun shooting some video performances last weekend with a gorgeous dance couple from the US version Dancing With The Stars — Emma Slater and Aussie dancer Henry Byalikov. They look amazing and were bringing their own unique brand of sexy to the new Jukebox show.

The idea to bring our Vegas show for one night only to Sydney was a bit of a surprise to us all, but it’s going to be unreal. It’s almost sold out and we are just about to release a final section of seating, but just the thought of performing to a home crowd gets us excited all over again and we are feverishly planning a full national run as soon as we can.

I can’t wait to start watching the new season of Game Of Thrones and my favourite YouTube clip this month was a spoiler, so don’t watch if you don’t want to hear some anecdotes from the latest season. The clip is Kit Harrington on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon talking about Jon Snow – very funny!

Talk to you all soon. I’m off to soundcheck now for the first show of the week here in Vegas – I hope someone requests Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” tonight… I like singing that song!

April Newsletter | Bringing Jukebox to life!

Posted by on Thursday, April 28th, 2016

LAS VEGAS, NV – April 17, 2016

Hi everybody – hope you had a great Easter!

The last month really couldn’t have been more hectic, busy or exciting for us. We spent January and February working out ideas for our new Jukebox show at The Venetian, but come March it was time to dive in head-first and start rehearsing. Since then we just haven’t stopped!

All the hard work has really paid off though – two weeks into the run and the new show is feeling amazing so far. It’s great to be able to get back to our first love of performing on stage regularly again.

We would love for you to come and see the show for yourself! Make sure you use the codeword ‘SOC25’ at the checkout for 25% off selected tickets.

With all the intense planning going on there hasn’t been a lot of family time lately, but we did manage to put the work aside on Easter Sunday to have a picnic. All our families got together in a park on a perfect Spring day here in Vegas (the weather doesn’t get any better than in late March/early April here) and it was great to relax together and recharge the batteries while our kids ran around hyped up on chocolate and hunting for eggs.

Now with all the craziness of the last few weeks, my YouTube pick for this month has to be a Bruno Mars song that is totally appropriate. It’s a few years old but I totally understand where he’s coming from!

Hope everybody is happy and loving life, and I look forward to seeing you all at an HN show one day soon.

March Newsletter | Jukebox rehearsals and family time

LAS VEGAS, NV – March 22, 2016

Hi Guys,

Well it’s been busy times for us this past month. Exciting to have our new Jukebox show at The Venetian opening March 29th!  Getting our new moves, outfits, band and stage together has been a lot of work but also a lot of fun for us all. The main thing for us is that audiences have a blast and enjoy the journey with us!

We can’t wait to share this brand new show with you so hope you’ll grab some tickets and come and join us. We’d love to see you! Make sure you use the codeword ‘SOC25’ at the checkout for 25% off selected tickets.

We’ve also been lucky to squeeze in some family time. I took a quick trip up to Coronado Island near San Diego to remind me what the ocean looks like – I miss the Aussie summer and beaches over here in the desert.

One of my favorite songs at the moment is Cake By The Ocean, so at my daughters request, that’s what we had!

Look forward to seeing everyone at the show!

Take care,

LAS VEGAS, NV – January 21, 2016

The Venetian® Las Vegas, SPI Entertainment and Las Vegas headliners HUMAN NATURE are delighted to announce a forthcoming three-year residency with the brand new show “JUKEBOX,” specially crafted for its home at the Sands Showroom in The Venetian.

Australia’s HUMAN NATURE, one of the world’s greatest vocal groups and a true Las Vegas success story, has set the Strip on fire and kept sold-out audiences dazzled and dancing during their internationally celebrated “MOTOWN Show,” which premiered at The Venetian in 2013.

“JUKEBOX” will see HUMAN NATURE’S foursome, Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney, backed by a dynamic six-piece band and world-class dancers, as they celebrate a mix of pop classics with doo-wop, boy band with Bandstand, soul standards with Motown… and even some “Uptown Funk.” “JUKEBOX” is not only a playlist of the group’s influences, but some of the most-loved hit songs from the best vocal artists and groups of all time, including “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “Stand By Me,” “Unchained Melody,” “Dance To The Music” and “Under The Boardwalk.”

“We’re incredibly excited to be doing this brand new show,” said Andrew Tierney. “We were looking for a new creative challenge and, when we presented our ideas to The Venetian they embraced it.”

“Over the past three years, Andrew, Mike, Toby and Phil have become wonderful additions to The Venetian family.  We couldn’t be more thrilled about HUMAN NATURE ‘JUKEBOX’. Their talents extend further than simply Motown and we can’t wait for guests to experience this new show,” said George Markantonis, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo Convention Center.

HUMAN NATURE’S “JUKEBOX” will explode with not only the Motown hits they have famously reinterpreted such as “Dancing In The Street,” but also soul standards like “Gimme Some Lovin’” and “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher,” plus old and new pop hits in “Twist And Shout” to today’s chart toppers such as “All About That Bass” and “Shake It Off.” They show that this “JUKEBOX” plays everything from The Temptations to Taylor Swift, from The Beatles to Bruno Mars.

The “JUKEBOX” concept was inspired by HUMAN NATURE’S Australian platinum selling album of the same name, which will be released in North America in 2016. The album was executive produced by the legendary Bob Rock (Michael Bublé /Metallica) and was co-produced by David Pierce (Michael Bublé /Robbie Williams). Pierce joins HUMAN NATURE at The Venetian as a musical collaborator for the “JUKEBOX” experience.

One of the world’s seminal “Boy Bands,” HUMAN NATURE will include hits from their own music catalog, as well as a host of fan favorites, while still paying homage to past pop masters. Audience members can expect to hear the songs from Backstreet Boys and the Bee Gees alongside The Beach Boys and Boyz II Men, among others.

“We’ve always been incredibly focused on HUMAN NATURE and on our live shows and how we are represented as artists,” explains Phil Burton. “We pinch ourselves as four Australians to be so heartily embraced by American music fans. To have such incredible support from The Venetian and the US music industry is humbling and it motivates us to bring our best five nights a week. We’ll be playing music from all eras, and we’ll throw in some Motown and some music from our pop career and the ‘boy band’ days. We’ll be highlighting what ‘boy bands’ have been like through the ages – not only a guilty pleasure of great songs, but a jukebox unto themselves.”

SPI Entertainment will produce the new show with HUMAN NATURE. “We have been proud to be partners with HUMAN NATURE since we first brought them to the USA over six years ago,” said SPI Founder & CEO Adam Steck. “They are the embodiment of what it means to be entertainers and we cannot wait for Las Vegas audiences to experience our new show with them. HUMAN NATURE never disappoints.”

The “JUKEBOX” residency is another high for a group that has been together since school days and are now celebrating their 26th year together. HUMAN NATURE has previously hit the top of the charts in Australia and the UK and have a staggering 25 platinum awards to their credit. Career highlights include playing to a global audience at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. HUMAN NATURE was handpicked to travel the world opening for Michael Jackson and Celine Dion and have collaborated frequently with the likes of American icon Smokey Robinson. “The members of Human Nature are extraordinary vocalists who truly know how to entertain,” said Smokey Robinson. “If you haven’t seen them perform you need to, it’s a real treat.”

HUMAN NATURE “JUKEBOX” will be performed Tuesday through Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. beginning, Tuesday, March 29. Tickets, on sale Friday, Jan. 29, start at $49.50 + taxes and fees and VIP options are available. Tickets can be purchased at any Venetian or Palazzo box office or by calling 702-414-9000 or 866-641-7469. Tickets are also available at or

October Newsletter | Halloween, Star Wars & working with Delta

Posted by on Friday, October 30th, 2015

LAS VEGAS, NV – October 30, 2015

Hey Guys,

What a great month it has been for us here!

We’ve had so many Aussies in to the Venetian to catch our shows lately, it almost feels like we are back home sometimes. Thanks for all the love and can’t wait to sing for more and more of you guys as the show continues. One of the great things about playing where we do is that we get people from all over the world vacationing in Vegas and then coming to see the show – it’s really fantastic to meet so many new people and have them get to know HN.

One of the highlights of the last few weeks has been getting to collaborate with the amazing Delta Goodrem. For those of you who aren’t Aussies, Delta is a wonderful and famous singer from Australia and someone we have been a fan of for years so to get together and make some festive magic with her on the song “Let It Snow” was just awesome. We loved our Christmas Album so much that we wanted to go back and add some new songs to it. My next favourite is “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” I have always loved this song but I feel we have found a really unique take on it for ourselves and I hope everyone likes it to get in the Christmas spirit this year too.

Halloween is almost upon us here and we will of course show you pics of the outfits – we missed Halloween last year being back in Oz to release our Jukebox album, but the costumes should be back in force for 2015… stay tuned. We even did a spooky ‘By Request’ to keep in the Halloween mood – it’s such a fun holiday. The party is at my house again this year and we’ve decided to make it more about the kids this time (yeah right!) — trick-or-treating in the neighbourhood and lots of Candy (or lollies for us Aussies).

My favourite YouTube clip at the moment might just have to be the full trailer for the new Star Wars movie. I love movies in general and the kid in me just won’t calm down about this one. I hope it lives up to expectations but I love the idea of a new Star Wars movie – the first one came out when I was 3!!!

Have a great month guys and see you all soon,

September Newsletter | Charity fun run, recording and back home in Vegas

Posted by on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015

LAS VEGAS, NV – September 30, 2015

Hi everyone!

It’s Phil here, to give you the latest on what’s been happening for us.

We’re back in Vegas now after our run of shows on the East Coast last month. It was a great tour with a lot of fun shows and great crowds – and it’s also always good to get the opportunity to see other parts of America with a lot of history and culture (I think I might have a bit of a crush on Philadelphia just quietly…).

We just finished recording a few new songs over the past couple of weeks. Once again we worked with Dave Pierce (who produced our Jukebox album) and Bob Rock – an amazing team to make music with. They really know their stuff! Can’t say too much about the material yet but we’re really excited.

We’re also starting to prepare for our Christmas show which kicks off at the Venetian on November 21 and goes through until December 22. It’s always fun to perform Christmas songs. They really seem to put a smile on most people’s faces – including our own.

Sometimes living here in Vegas means we do a few things a little out of the ordinary – for instance last weekend we all hit the streets of Vegas for a 5km charity fun run (well, one of us decided to run – the other 3 of us felt the option of a leisurely 1 mile walk was more in order). It was actually a great way to spend a morning – and I know my dogs really appreciated the exercise!

Okay – to my favourite YouTube video at the moment. I’m really enjoying Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ new track ‘Downtown’. It’s got a great old-school feel, and the video is so much fun to watch. Enjoy!

Hope you’re all enjoying life and looking forward to a great Christmas – it’s just around the corner…

August Newsletter | Family Vacation, East Coast tour & back in the studio

Posted by on Monday, August 31st, 2015

LAS VEGAS, NV – August 31, 2015

Hey Guys, hope you’re all well.

It’s Mike here to give you an update of what’s been going on lately in the world of Human Nature!

The last month has been a fun and busy one for us all, starting off with some family vacation time at the beginning of August. We all went our separate ways, I was lucky enough to visit the beaches of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico which was beautiful and a great chance to relax with my family.

We then hit the road for a few weeks, getting out of Vegas to beat the heat and take The Motown Show to the East Coast of the U.S. We started in Florida then up to Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Lancaster PA, and Morristown, NJ. It’s been fun and the crowds have been fantastic! We just finished our last weekend at the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City before heading back to Vegas to resume our show at The Venetian and also start some recording, which will be super exciting.

Over the years, we’ve discovered that YouTube is a wonderful platform to watch and share all different types of videos and as part of our newsletter, we’re going to share a favourite video each month. To kick things off, mine is ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ by The Weeknd – it’s my favourite song at the moment. It’s got such a great feel and his voice reminds me a bit of Michael Jackson. Enjoy!

Thanks for signing up for our newsletter and we’ll try to keep you updated every month with what’s going on in the world of HN.

Take care,

Love Mike
